Ostend | 15th December 2021

Arne Stang Holding AS, a family business, owned and run by the Stang family in Norway, has entered into an agreement to acquire all shares in the NHV Group subsidiary company, Airlift Onshore AS.

Airlift Onshore AS is Northern Europe’s leading company for the provision of onshore helicopter services. They create solutions for both onshore and offshore visual site inspections through the combined use of helicopters and drones. They are also the holding company for subsidiaries Vertech Offshore AS and Airlift AS. Both are market leaders operating a niche business whilst offering the highest quality in very specific and challenging helicopter operations.

Vertech Offshore AS, located in Lillesand Norway, is the international market leader for flare tip replacements, employing a unique method for flare tip replacement with a vertical reference flying technique.
Airlift AS, located in Bringeland Norway, provides drone and helicopters to carry out safety inspections that would otherwise require large and timely resources. They have 15 helicopters located across Norway, from: Bringeland, Kinsarvik, Stranda, Bergen and Tromsø.

amily company Arne Stang AS is a holding company operating in special areas of interest, including property, through their subsidiary company AK Stang Eiendom AS, fishing through Karmsund Protein AS and mountain protection through the company Norsk Bergsikring AS.
Pioneering CEO of Arne Stang AS, Peter Midthun immediately could visualise the significant synergies that the Airlift AS subsidiaries can offer to the portfolio of businesses already owned by Arne Stang AS, and he is looking forward to the interesting challenge of implementing them, trusting that having local ownership will further mature the organisation’s business offering and develop the local region.

NHV Group’s Chief Financial Officer, Laurent Verhelst comments, “Aviation services will be a new operation for Arne Stang AS, but with the vast level of competence, extensive subject knowledge and experience of the teams that they will acquire, we are convinced of their future success in Norway.’’
“Putting the agreement in place has been an ongoing discussion since autumn 2021, and we are pleased to announce that the purchase now appears to be in order” says Peter Midthun, CEO of Arne Stang AS.

“We have been working on the sale of Airlift for some time, and we are happy that we have now reached a goal with a local owner, so that the activity we have built up over more than 30 years at Bringeland, can continue,” says Stian Hårklau, director of Airlift AS.
